I got introduced to the world of poetry quite by chance. I was always of the impression that I never had the poetry writing talent in me. My mother, though, felt the exact opposite. Anyway, one fine day, she managed to pull me into this irresistible challenge by telling me, “I’m sure you can do this easily enough. Give it a try and see for yourself”. That did it. I was equally determined to show her how truly dismal I was and started putting pen to paper.
Imagine my surprise when I actually came out with not one, but two poems, within a span of about an hour or so! Needless to say, there has been no looking back from then on. I am not very regular with my poetry writing, but I do pen in a few lines when I feel the need to do so.
A few of my poems have been published in leading Indian magazines and this gives me the required impetus to write more poems. This has also led to a parallel development – that of composing music for dance items. I hope to be able to continue with this trend in the future. God willing, it will!
